A Bit About Me
I was born in Kent, in the southeast of England, and some of my earliest and most vivid memories are by the sea — walking along the shore with my parents, feeling the salt in the air, the sound of waves, the freedom of open skies. That connection to the ocean has been a thread throughout my life.
After five years as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force, I moved to New Zealand in my late twenties. These days, I live at Waimairi Beach in Christchurch, working as an Air Traffic Controller while building Wave Wellness ,my true passion and purpose.
Like many people, I’ve navigated burnout, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and the quiet pressure to keep everything together. The tools I now share — yoga, Pilates, meditation, self-inquiry — are the ones that helped me find steadiness and strength in those moments.
They’ve lifted me to my peaks and grounded me when I needed it most.
This path has taught me that movement isn’t just physical — it’s transformational. I created Wave Wellness to support others on their journey of rediscovery, resilience, and real joy.

Hi, I'm Lucy - founder of Wave Wellness
Rooted by the sea, inspired by movement, and guided by curiosity and care — Wave Wellness is where I share the practices that have uplifted and transformed me, in the hope they’ll do the same for you.
This is a space for you to breathe, move, and reconnect with your own rhythm. Whether you’re new to the mat or returning to yourself, I’m here to guide you in a way that’s real, compassionate, and quietly powerful.

Why Wave Wellness
I created Wave Wellness as a way to combine what I know with what I love - mindful movement, self-enquiry, and a grounded approach to wellbeing. I believe we all have the capacity to feel better, live more fully, and meet life with strength and softness in equal measure.
To me, wellness isn’t about striving, it’s about showing up. It’s about honouring who you are and where you are, and choosing to grow from that place. My philosophy is shaped by the tides: we rise and fall, we surge and still, and in it all, there’s beauty and balance.
This work is for anyone ready to explore, to find their own flow and reconnect with what feels true. At Wave Wellness, all bodies and all levels are welcome. You don’t need to be flexible or experienced to begin.
You just need to begin.

I just wanted to give some really positive feedback about Lucy’s classes. I am a regular at all three of her different classes and am addicted! I know I am not the only one. She is super-organised, friendly, approachable, and a top instructor who you are so lucky to have. She makes the classes so much fun and I know a good number of us really enjoy attending the. I must say Lucy’s classes tend to be my favourite!

You are a talented facilitator of learning! I loved that you co-constructed the session with me and were responsive to my needs. You have a lovely calm manner and a very positive energy, which is catchy 😄. My body definitely feels like it’s done some work which I like.
I really enjoyed our session yesterday and am keen to do more with you.
I thought your class was great. You have such a lovely calming voice. And the bliss balls, tea, and note were such a nice personal touch! I also loved that I didn’t need to bring a mat (I don’t have one!). The equipment available (especially those bolsters) made holding poses more comfortable. I will check out your online courses. I would love to come back again for an in-person class. Overall, it was such a lovely experience, taking time to practice settling the mind. Thank you.
Just want to thank you for this morning. I have come home and feel wayyyyy more positive and motivated ! I’m going to do some work and then cook healthy food ! You are awesome!
