Taking off the stabilisers: A week of firsts

What I learnt from my first week at the No1 beach hut

This week, something truly special happened at Wave Wellness.

The doors at No.1 Beach Hut, New Brighton, officially opened to provide the perfect space for us. After months of planning, dreaming, and a fair bit of nervous energy, I took off the stabilisers and launched into small in-person classes under my own Wave Wellness brand.

It felt a lot like being four years old again, bike wobbling on the sand.

The day of freedom in 1987...on Dymchurch Beach, Kent...Dad had to run a long way after me!
The day of freedom in 1987...on Dymchurch Beach, Kent...Dad had to run a long way after me!

That exhilaration, that slight fear, and the absolute joy of just doing it. This time, instead of my Dad holding the seat, it was my incredible community and the unwavering belief in the "Wise Ways" of movement that propelled me forward.

And what a week it's been! We’ve had the 0610 class where the Beach Hut was alive with five people full of vibrant energy, and the evening Submerge & Settle Yin class with four people finding their stillness. At other times, it was just me and the sound of the waves. You know what? Each time, it felt exactly right.

This is the messy, beautiful reality of life, isn't it? There’s no certainty, no straight line to success. There are wobbles, quiet moments, bursts of connection, and lessons in every ebb and flow. It takes courage to be bold, to put yourself out there, and to be okay with the journey of growth - no matter how many people show up on any given day.

My deepest gratitude to every single one of you who joined me this week, whether you filled a mat or sent a supportive message from afar. Your presence, in any form, means a lot to me and touches me deeply.

As we move into next week, I carry the same sentiment: to embrace the flow, to find joy in the process, and to trust that by staying centred, we can navigate any ripple or wave that comes our way.

If you've been thinking about coming along to a class...step into action. Make a booking (50% off your first class) and come meet me. All bodies and all levels are welcome, it's a supportive space to work at your edge in your way. Trust me to guide you and trust the process of your own growth. You won't regret it.

When was the last time you did something for the first time? Get comfortable with being outside your comfort zone...it's amazing what can happen...try it on!

Breathe, move, stay centred.

Lucy
