Charting your course for 2026

The final days of the year often feel like a slack tide, the time between Christmas and New Year. The time when the big celebrations and catch ups are done, presents unwrapped and food consumed. You might even find yourself wondering whether working so hard during the year just for this time off has been worthwhile. (My advice? Relax with what is and enjoy the stillness!).
This is the moment when the water stops moving before the current shifts direction. It is a time for reflection, for settling, and for deciding exactly how we want to move when the tide turns toward a new year.
This week, as I’ve been filming our new Wavelet Workshops on Mountain Pose and Forward Fold, I’ve been thinking deeply about the concept of "True North." In yoga, True North isn't just a physical alignment; it’s a state of being where your foundation is solid, your core is engaged, and your vision is clear.
It's akin to aligning with your North Star and how you want to create yourself as a person. It's about how you show up everyday so you live in this world in a way that is true to you, nothing hidden and living your truth right through to the bone.
The Challenge of the Current
Life rarely stays in the "Quiet Tide." Most of our weeks are full of surges, shifts, and unexpected waves. When we established our Wave Wellness CREST Principles (Core, Respiration, Elongation, Stability, and Timing), the goal wasn't just to make our yoga and pilates poses feel better, it was to give us a toolkit for the "choppy water" of daily life.
At the end of this blog, there's a Self-Enquiry Reflection section called "True North Review" which challenges you to look at a recent event, reflect and set 3 intentions for the future.
Building Your Foundation for 2026
As we look toward January, we don't need "New Year’s Resolutions" that feel like heavy anchors. Instead, we need a True North to live in our natural expression, every day.
Whether you are seeking the Salt (the strength and fire of our Surge Power Yoga, our Crest Mat Pilates Classes & our Wavelet workshops) or the Soul (the deep, restorative stillness of our Submerge Yin, Spindrift meditations and Seafaring Journalling), the foundation is the same - it's You.
My goal for you in the coming year is to help you build a practice that supports you through every ebb and flow. From our 5-minute "Splash" resets to our deep-dive Soul & Salt private retreats, let’s make 2026 the year you stop fighting the waves and start riding them.

Build your foundation. Awaken your potential. Find your power.
Start your 2026 in the best way possible with Wave Wellness through Mindful Movement and Wise Ways. No judgement, no expectations, it's you truing up to who you are in a supportive environment.
Ready to start your 2026 with total clarity? Book a Soul & Salt 1-on-1 personal retreat day to find your True North. Get a head start and use the reflection worksheet at the end of this blog post.
However you show up, see you on the mat soon! Wave Wellness is launching....yes, the time has come...6 January 2026! Dive in to 2026 with a free 7 day trial to the Shore Studio (online recorded classes accessible anytime). The content will grow and grow with our Wave Wellness Community.

I can't wait to meet you on your mat.
May our end of 2025 be peaceful and may your 2026 start with clarity,

🌊 The True North Review
A Wave Wellness Reflection Guide
As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves in the quiet space between what was and what will be. Use these three questions to chart your course for the year ahead.
1. Navigating the Choppy Water
Think back to a specific challenge or "surge" you faced in the last week. Maybe it was a moment of stress, a difficult conversation, or an internal doubt.
The Reflection: Which CREST principle (Core, Respiration, Elongation, Stability, or Timing) did you reach for to stay grounded? If you felt yourself drifting, which principle would have been your best "anchor" in that moment?
2. The Balance of Soul & Salt
Looking back at the rhythm of your 2025, consider the ratio of effort to ease. Did you spend the year in a constant "High Tide" of effort (The Salt), or did you allow yourself enough time to "Submerge" and find stillness (The Soul)?
The Reflection: Where was the imbalance, and what is one boundary you can set in 2026 to ensure your "tide" has time to settle as much as it has time to surge?
3. Setting Your True North
In our Wavelet workshops, we talk about True North as the blueprint for our power. It is the steady centre and an awareness to how our body is aligned in the moment. It's a tool to help us and one we return to when the practice provides us with a high challenge.
The Reflection: Based on your current "Soul & Salt" balance, finish these three intentions for your year ahead:
To build my foundation, I will...
To awaken my potential, I will...
To find my power, I will...
